Super Aqualandia

Super Aqualandia is the undisputed champion of Costa Blanca water parks by size and variety of attractions on offer, and is located on a hillside overlooking Benidorm. The park is divided amongst different landscaped themed areas, with a total of 15 water slides ready to ride. This includes Europe’s highest standing slide and the world’s highest capsule slide (which is truly terrifying!).

Alongside the adrenalin slides, there are more casual pool areas and other attractions, including a wave pool and rocks to swim through and jump off.

There are several different pools dedicated to kids, with metal climbing and spray structures, as well as small floating foam items to interact with. The kid’s pools are surrounded by plenty of sun loungers (additional cost applies). Otherwise, free shady spots on the grassed areas are quite limited, so be sure to arrive early if you are wanting to grab a space.

There are plenty of restaurant and bar options distributed throughout the site for refreshments, as well as lockers to hire (some with phone chargers inside!), in case you need them.

Salt water is used throughout the pool complex which, although beneficial to the environment, tends to be a bit less pleasant for prolongued swimming than a chlorinated pool would be. The water park can also get very busy during peak summer times, so expect long queues on the more popular slides.

Those negatives aside though, Aqualandia is undoubtedly a very impressive setup for a water park. There is plenty for visitors of all ages to do and kids will love the children’s areas.

#2 Aqua Natura, Benidorm

Opening Hours: Open April – October

April, May, October: 11:00-17:30, June, September: 10:30-18:30, July, August: 10:30-19:30

Ticket Prices: Adults from €31.00, Children/Seniors from €25.00. Combination tickets including entrance to Terra Natura Zoo also available.

*Height and/or weight restrictions apply to many of the water slides.

Aqua Natura is located alongside and is operated by the same owners as the Terra Natura Zoo in central Benidorm, with combined entrance tickets for both attractions available.

Aqua Natura is a modern water park, with a variety of rides and water attractions for all the family. There are several faster slides for adults or older children, as well as more gentle offerings for younger kids and some that can be ridden together with an adult.

As well as the slides, there are several enclosed and themed smaller pools aimed specifically at younger children, complete with spray constructions and small slides. The little turtles pool is a very shallow area intended for kids under 4, with shaded sun loungers surrounding it (additonal cost applies).

A fun offering from Aqua Natura is their Mermaid school (additional cost applies), where children can dress as a mermaid/triton (complete with make-up and tail) and be taught swimming techniques using the tail, as well as posing for photos – making memories that will last forever.

#3 Albir Garden Resort, Albir

Opening Hours: Open April to October (weather permitting)

Ticket Prices: Adults €22, Children €18

It is essential to check ticket availabilty 1 day in advance of any visit

Albir Garden Resort is a hotel complex located in Albir, just north of Benidorm. A major draw of this hotel is its water park, complete with a range of slides and water attractions to entertain guests of all ages.

While the water park is intended primarily for hotel guests, it is possible to purchase day tickets to visit the water park only, subject to availability. Day tickets are only available when capacity allows, so there are unfortunately unlikely to be any in the peak of summer, but the pool is a great option for a day trip outside of this time. It is essentail to check 1 day in advance to see if any day tickets will be available for the following day.

As well as the water park, the hotel complex also has a restaurant and bar area that can be used by day visitors to the water park.

Water park swimming pool with slides and dragon feature
Aquopolis

Aquopolis is the biggest and best water park in South Costa Blanca, located on the edge of central Torrevieja. It has many large water slides for thrill seekers, with a good variety of styles. Several utilise inflatable rings to sit on while descending.

In addition to the thrill slides, there are also several pools, including a wave pool and small zip slide. Kids are provided for by 2 dedicated children’s pools, both with a selection of small slides and water spray attractions to keep the little ones entertained. There is also a gentle lazy river ride to relax on.

If in need of refreshment, the park has several restaurant and bar areas to enjoy. There are many sunbeds and bali beds distributed throughout the park for seating (for additonal cost).

A really nice feature of Aquopolis are the large grassed areas that surround the children’s pools, complete with many trees for shade, meaning there are plenty of options for places to setup ‘camp’ for the day – giving somewhere for kids to retreat to and relax in if in need of a rest or a break from the sun.

The park can get quite busy during peak summer times, meaning that some of the more popular attractions can attract long queues. That said, the park is still great fun and sure to keep kids well entertained for a day out.

#5 Aqua Park Flamingo, Torrevieja

Opening Hours: Open May 28 – September, 7 days a week, 11:00-18:00

Ticket Prices: See website for latest prices

*Height and/or weight restrictions apply to many of the water slides.

Located in the La Siesta urbanisation just outside of Torrevieja, Aqua Park Flamingo is a slightly smaller water park, aimed at a younger audience.

The park is based around a central children’s pool with small slides and water features. This pool is surrounded by sun loungers and shaded tables, all of which can be used free of charge. It is a nice spot to relax and watch the kids splash about in the pool.

There is also a pair of twisting water slides that kids can enjoy, as well as a larger slide that uses inflatable rings. There are none of the larger thrill slides found elsewhere though.

For refreshments, there is a cafe/bar on site.

Overall, the water park is fun for smaller kids, but clearly not on the same scale as some of the larger offerings that make up this list. The limited capacity does ensure that it never feels too busy though, with only ever small queues for the slides, which is a real bonus.

#6 AquaPark, Ciudad Quesada

Opening Hours: Open June – early September

June, September: 11:00-18:00, July, August: 11:00-19:00

Ticket Prices: Adult: €18.00, Child (4-10) & Senior (>65): €15.00, Under 4: free

*Height and/or weight restrictions apply to many of the water slides.

AquaPark, Ciudad Quesada (also known as AquaPark, Rojales), is a water park located just outside of the town of Rojales. First opened back in 1986, the park is the second oldest in all of Spain, but remains fun to this day.

The park is set into a natural hillside, using this slope as a basis for the water slides. There are 4 larger slides available, including some quicker ones for thrill seekers. None are at the scale of the larger rides at the larger parks though.

As well as water slides, the park also has a swimming pool and pool with spray water features. For kids, there is a children’s pool with several small water slides in it.

The pools are surrounded by various seating areas, with sun loungers available (at additional cost). There are some shaded areas, though space is quite limited. There is a restaurant area for refreshments if required.

Overall, although not as large and varied as some of the other water parks, AquaPark Ciudad Quesada does have a fun selection of slides, as well as pleasant areas for younger kids to enjoy. It often does not get as busy as some of the other parks either, which is also a bonus.

#7 La Marina Camping, La Marina

Opening Hours: Camping open year-round. Water park open April-October (unheated), 10:00-19:00

Ticket Prices: Water park access free for guests of La Marina Camping, Visitor tickets also available – prices vary according to season, see website for details.

The pool at La Marina Camping

Although not strictly speaking a water park in its own right, La Marina Camping has the best swimming pool of any campsite on the Costa Blanca. This makes it a great option for a place to stay when visiting the area, with a selection of chalets available for rent, as well as touring pitches.

The pool area is like a small water park, with multiple slides, most of which are suitable for smaller children (though in some cases still quite fast!). Being primarily used by campsite guests only, queues are usually small for the slides.

As well as the slides, there is a large frame with spray features and a bucket drop, all sitting in a large shallow pool which is perfect for kids to enjoy.

Surrounding the pool are many sun loungers that can be used free of charge. There is a bar area for drinks that even features a swim-up bar, which is a nice touch. Elsewhere on the campsite there are various food options.

The campsite also has a nice indoor spa and heated swimming pool area, that can be used year-round (for additional cost).

#8 Rio Safari, Elche

Opening Hours: Zoo open year-round (10:00-18:00). Splash Park open summer months only.

Ticket Prices: Zoo entry – Adult: €22.50, Child (3-12): €17.00, Under 3: free

Entry to Splash Park an additional €8 per person – Splash Park entry only with zoo entry ticket

*Height and/or weight restrictions apply to many of the water slides.

Rio Safari Elche is actually a popular zoo attraction, with a selection of exotic animals from around the world. A recent addition to the zoo though, is their Splash Park attraction, offering visitors the chance to also visit a water park. If you are after some water park fun, but would rather combine it with another attraction rather than dedicate a whole day to it, this could be the option for you.

The Splash Park is equipped with numerous water slides, some of which are faster slides aimed at older children and adults. As well as the slides, the park also has a children’s pool with smaller slides, perfect for younger kids to enjoy. There are also other spray water features distributed around the park.

Surrounding the pool are several shaded seating areas to relax in, with a restaurant area provided for refreshments.

If you were already thinking of visiting this zoo anyway, this new addition of a water park just adds to the potential for enjoyment on offer. It all makes for a really fun day out for the whole family.
