Best Go-Kart Tracks for Kids in Costa Blanca

Feeling the need for speed? Then get to one of the area’s go-kart tracks for excitement for all the family

Introduction

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a racing driver then I’m sure you’ll relish the prospect of getting behind the wheel at one of Costa Blanca’s many go-kart tracks. Kids and adults alike can enjoy the excitement of taking a spin around the twists and turns of a race track.

All the karting centres featured here are equipped with modern karts with all of the required safety features, along with crash helmets and safety wear for participants, ensuring that you and your little ones stay happy and well protected. For those who are a little more competitively minded, you will be pleased to hear that all the tracks also feature electronic timing systems, so you and your family or friends can track who laps the fastest!

If you think that your kids might be too small for karting, fear not, all of the karting centres listed below have the option of hiring double karts that come with 2 seats and 2 interconnected steering wheels. These are great fun for younger kids as they get to experience wearing a crash helmet and riding in a kart with their own steering wheel, while you can ensure that they stay on course. In some cases children as young as 2 are able to ride in these double karts.

Many of the tracks listed here run special events, as well as casual open races that anyone can join. Karting can be a really exciting option for kids’ birthday parties.

#1 Go-Karts Orihuela Costa

Located right on the main N332 coastal road near to Punta Prima, sits Go-Karts Orihuela Costa. The karting centre features 2 separate tracks; a larger track for anyone aged 10+, and a smaller track specifically for children or double karts to use. Kids over 5 years old can drive solo on the smaller track, if they are able to operate the controls independently.

The different go-karts available come in a choice of power (and therefore speed) specifications – 125cc, 270cc or 400cc. There is the choice of either joining an open race session, or having a private race if visiting in a group.

In addition to the go-kart track, the centre also has an area of inflatable castles and slides for kids, as well as bar and restaurant areas to relax in. Uniquely to this track, they also have a ‘Go Fly’ machine, an upward facing air blaster that allows the user to simulate the feeling of skydiving without ever having to jump out of a plane!

#2 Go-Karts Ciudad Quesada

Owned and operated by the same people behind Go-Karts Orihuela Costa (see above), Go-Karts Ciudad Quesada offers many of the same features but in an alternative location. The centre also has 2 separate tracks, a larger track for those aged 10+, and a smaller one for kids (5+ to drive solo) and double karts.

The karts come in a choice of 125cc, 270cc and the quickest at 400cc. As well as the karting, there is also a children’s fair area with inflatables and rides.

#3 Racing Center Gilesias, San Fulgencio

Operating out of their location near to Guardamar del Sugura, the Racing Center Gilesias has been open since 1989. This experience shows in their excellent customer service.

There is a choice of 100cc, 280cc or 400cc karts for adults to race around their 500m long track, as well as the option of double karts for smaller kids to join in the fun. They advertise discounts for anyone looking to book multiple sessions.

They also have a range of other kart speeds to match specifically to children of different ages, with the power rating increasing with the age of the driver. Different sessions are run on the track with the different kart speeds grouped into categories, ensuring that all of the other karts in any race should be well matched.

#4 Fast Kart, Elche

Located a drive in from the coast at Elche, Fast Kart (also known as Elx Karting Club) has one of the largest go-kart tracks in the area (1160m long and 10m wide). The track’s 2 long straights combined with a mix of fast and slow corners ensure some great racing. There are a range of different race packages that can be booked, as well as racing in casual open races.

The karts on offer to hire are either 270cc or 390cc. Juniors aged 10+ can drive solo in 160cc karts. Younger kids can ride in a double kart with an adult.

#5 Karting 932, Alicante

The only indoor track on this list, Karting 932 in Alicante offers state of the art electric go-karts. This makes for a pleasant driving experience, free from the noise and fumes of regular karts. The indoor setting also makes this a great rainy day activity.

The karts being electric certainly doesn’t detract from the experience. The speeds and acceleration of the karts can easily match their petrol equivalents. The indoor circuit features many tight twists and turns, making it one of the more challenging tracks in the area. There still remain plenty of overtaking opportunities though, so good quality racing is assured.

Children aged 6+ are able to drive the junior karts solo, or younger or less confident kids can join an adult in a double kart.

#6 Karting Alacant

Located on the outskirts of Alicante city, Karting Alacant has a 750m outdoor circuit. The karts available to hire come in a choice of 200cc or 270cc.

There is no minimum age for children to be allowed to drive solo on the track, but they need to be able to reach the pedals and operate the kart independently. Typically this is children aged roughly 6+. Smaller kids can drive in double karts with an adult.

For anyone wanting to try their hand at paintball as well, the karting centre has teamed up with the nearby Paintball Titanes (one of our favourite adventure activities for kids in Costa Blanca), to offer joint package tickets for both activities.

#7 Karting Finestrat

Located just outside of Benidorm, Karting Finestrat boasts the largest go-kart track in all of Costa Blanca, measuring an impressive 1260m long and 10m wide. It also is unusual in that it has uphill and downhill sections built into the track. All this guarentees some great racing.

The karts available come in a choice of 200cc, 270cc or 390cc. The fastest karts can reach an incredible 120km/h! There are also junior karts, specifically for children to use.

As well as the go-karting action, the centre also has a children’s game zone, with arcade machines and a small football pitch to play on.

Anyone staying in the Benidorm area can request a free pick-up for transport to the go-kart track. This makes it a great option for any families that are staying in the area without their own car.

#8 Karting Benidorm

Conveniently located in Benidorm, Karting Benidorm offers a 422m long track for users to enjoy. They often feature special offers and package deals on their website, so best to book in advance.

Children aged 7+ can drive the junior 160cc karts solo, while anyone aged 14+ can drive the 270cc karts. Kids aged 4+ are able to ride in a double kart with an adult.
