With summer fast approaching and the holiday season almost upon us, I think we’re all looking for fun ways to entertain our kids while enjoying the sunshine. As temperatures on the Costa Blanca continue to rise, anywhere that has water to cool off in will always be appealing.
A great option is therefore to find a local swimming pool to visit for the day. Even those lucky enough to have their own private or communal pool to use at their home or holiday accommodation can still enjoy a great day out at one of the many family restaurants with swimming pools in Costa Blanca South. These pools are often larger, providing more space to swim. Kids are also sure to have fun playing and mixing with any other children.
As well as a swimming pool, all of the venues listed here are also family friendly restaurants with full food and drink menus. Some also have playgrounds providing additional entertainment for children. It is always nice to be able to relax and enjoy a drink or something to eat, while knowing that the kids have plenty to keep them occupied.
Are the Restaurant Pools Free to Use?
Sadly, no. For all of the venues listed, there is an additional charge to use the pool. This is typically only a few Euros though. Rental of sun loungers also usually costs extra. These charges vary, so best to check in advance before visiting. In light of this, it is usually best to try and make a day out of any visit, rather than just visiting over a mealtime. That way you can linger, relax and enjoy all of the facilities for as long as you like.

Best Family Restaurants with Swimming Pools
#1 The Emerald Isle, La Florida
Located in the La Florida urbanisation in Orihuela Costa, The Emerald Isle is an Irish bar and restuarant with 2 swimming pools – a larger, deeper pool which is great for swimming in, and a smaller, shallow pool which is perfect for kids to be able to stand up and play in.
The water and facilities are always kept in great condition. Surrounding the pool is a large, grassy area with shade provided from both trees and pool umbrellas. It is a good idea to try and arrive early to grab a good spot for the day.
The restaurant serves a good value menu of well cooked Irish/British food options. In the evenings (outside of pool hours) there is often musical entertainment, with a small children’s play area opening up as well. At weekends, pool swimming is accompanied by stage entertainment – a quiz and games on a Saturday and live music on a Sunday.
#2 The Celtic Isle, Playa Flamenca
Located in PLaya Flamenca in Orihuela Costa and sister restaurant to The Emerald Isle (above), The Celtic Isle has a large, pleasantly landscaped swimming pool featuring waterfall feature and a small water slide for kids.
There is space to sit around the pool with shaded tables, but not anything like the large grassed area that The Emerald Isle has.
Rather than offering a menu of Irish/British type food as you might expect, The Celtic Isle is instead home to the Zenia Garden restaurant, serving up a range of tasty and well priced Chinese and Asian food.
#3 Las Chismosa, Orihuela Costa
Located just outside of the La Florida urbanisation in Orihuela Costa, is Piscina Bar Las Chismosa. This friendly and welcoming space has a large, well maintained pool perfect for swimming in, as well as a basic slide. There is also a separate shallow area of the pool behind dividers that is perfect for little ones. Surrounding the pool is a large paved area with sun loungers.
The restaurant serves a good value menu of simple Spanish and international food. It also hosts special events on some evenings, including a flamenco show.
#4 La Mirada, La Zenia
If you are looking for a restaurant with pool that is right on the beach, then Restaurante La Mirada in La Zenia is for you. Overlooking the golden sands of La Zenia beach (known locally as one of the best beaches in the area), La Mirada occupies a great location with sweeping views down the coastline.
At the back side of the restaurant there is an average sized swimming pool, surrounded by sun loungers with a view out to sea. If you like swimming but aren’t keen on the sea, this could be perfect for you. The price of entry into the pool is a little high though.
The restaurant serves a large Spanish menu including tapas plates, meat and fish dishes. Despite being a popular and often crowded spot, the service is always well organised and efficient.
#5 El Paraíso, Torrevieja
Located close to the beach on the edge of Torrevieja is El Paraíso restaurant. With both a large main pool and a smaller, shallower children’s pool, everyone can happily enjoy their visit. Sunloungers and parasols are included in the cost of entry, with some shaded areas to sit in.
The restaurant serves a varied menu including all the Spanish favourites. The quality of the food receives some great reviews.
As well as the swimming pools, there is also a mini golf course and pool tables that can be played on for an additional cost. It’s a lovely spot to spend a day.
#6 Marina Bar, Torrevieja
Located in Torrevieja is the hidden gem of Marina Bar. With a large well-kept pool and plenty of space for seating, it is the perfect place to kick back and relax.
The restaurant serves a varied menu of English style cuisine, all of which is well prepared and reasonably priced, as well as offering a full bar menu for drinks. They also do a tasty Sunday lunch.
Regular live music shows help ensure everyone is entertained during their visit.
#7 Piscina Aldea del Mar, Torrevieja
Set in the heart of Torrevieja is Aldea del Mar, a beautifully landscaped swimming pool and gardens. With areas for all the family to swim and plenty of shaded seating options in the gardens surrounding the pool, it is a tranquil place to relax and spend a day.
The restaurant serves a menu of Spanish classics, as well as having a full bar for drinks.
The whole setup is very child-friendly and the pool is always popular with families.
#8 The Oasis, San Luis
Sandwiched between the two salt lakes of Torrevieja in the San Luis urbanisation, sits The Oasis restaurant. With both a large swimming pool and small paddling pool for little kids, it is perfect for all the family. Surrounding the pool is a selection of seating, some of which is shaded.
The restaurant serves a menu of British pub style food, with full drinks bar to compliment. The venue also runs special events throughout the year and often features live music.
As well as the pools, to help keep kids entertained there is also a nice playground area. This makes The Oasis also a great option if looking for a family restaurant with outdoor play area in Costa Blanca. The only downside is that the playground is not shaded, so becomes too hot to use during peak sun hours in summer.
#9 Piscinas Pinomar, La Mata
Located behind the sand dunes that line the coast between Torrevieja and Guardamar del Segura, is Piscinas Pinomar. Popular with Spanish families, the restaurant has a large, well maintained swimming pool for cooling off and keeping the kids entertained. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming.
The restaurant serves a menu of classic, good value, Spanish style food, including paellas.
#10 AquaMarina Pool Park, La Marina
Located in the Urbanisation La Marina is the AquaMarina Pool Park. With landscaped outdoor pools that include a cave feature and several small slides, as well as a larger pool for swimming, the setting is perfect for a fun day out with little ones.
If eating, there is a good selection to choose from, all of which is also great value. We enjoyed our food when we ate there.

#11 Marimba Blue, Blue Lagoon, San Miguel de Salinas
Located just outside the Blue Lagoon urbanisation sits Marimba Blue, a restaurant with swimming pool set in pleasant surroundings. The pool is divided into a large pool for swimming and a smaller, shallower section with a fountain in the middle which is great for little kids.
There is plenty of space to sit around the pool, including both covered and uncovered seating in the restaurant area. The tasty food offered is consistently well reviewed and includes a range of international dishes, including some Mexican specials.
As well as a swimming pool, there is also a small children’s playground.
#12 The Palms Beach Club, Lomas de Cabo Roig
Now under new ownership for summer 2024, The Palms Beach Club is tucked away in a quiet location in Lomas de Cabo Roig, Orihuela Costa. The venue has been tastefully renovated to create a beautifully landscaped destination with rustic charm.
The large swimming pool is well kept, with some interesting water features. Surrounding the pool are a range of seating options, many of which are shaded.
The restaurant serves a good range of food options, all of which are receiving great reviews. For those that remember the previous menu, rest assured that fish and chips is still on the menu. Sometimes there are children’s entertainers or party evenings with a DJ. Keep an eye on their website for details of upcoming events.
#13 Restaurante Olympia Piscina, Mil Palmeras
Just in from the coast at Mil Palmeras, in the south of Costa Blanca, is Restautante Olympia. The restaurant has a good sized swimming pool, surrounded by sun loungers with umbrella shade. Unusually, the pool is maintained (but not heated!) all year round, so anyone brave enough can also enjoy a swim in winter!
The large restaurant has plenty of shaded seating and serves a Spanish style menu, as well as pizzas that come highly recommended.
As well as the swimming pool, Restaurante Olympia also has a small children’s playground to help keep kids entertained.
#14 Manolo’s Mar, Torre de la Horadada
Located right at the southern end of Costa Blanca, between Mil Palmeras and Torre de la Horadada, is Manolo’s Mar restaurant. Occupying a location close to the seafront, the restaurant has both a swimming pool and children’s playground, making it also one of our best family restaurants in Costa Blanca with outdoor play areas.
The restaurant itself is very popular, so at weekends and peak times it is always worth booking a table in advance to avoid disappointment. It serves a range of Spanish style food, including tasty tapas dishes and seafood specialities.
