Pool Fun for all the Family at Marimba Blue Restaurant

Looking for a pool with a great restaurant in Costa Blanca this summer? We checked out Marimba Blue to see what they have on offer

**We were kindly gifted free entry for our family to the pool at Marimba Blue restaurant in exchange for promotion through this website and our social media channels. All opinions expressed below remain our own.

Introduction

With the heat of the summer sun upon us here in Costa Blanca, a visit to a pool bar makes a great day out. Typically offering a chance to cool off, alongside a bar and restaurant, they represent fun for all.

One such pool restaurant and bar that is right on our doorstep in the south of Costa Blanca is Marimba Blue. Despite being located only a short drive from where we live, it’s a venue we’d never actually been to before. We’d heard some good things about the place so we were very pleased to be able to give it a try.

What is there for kids to do at Marimba Blue?

The main attraction of Marimba Blue is of course the swimming pool. There is a large, main pool and an adjoining smaller kids pool. The kids pool has a fountain feature in the centre of it.

As well as the pool, there is also a small children’s playground and bouncy castle (when it’s not too hot) that visitors to the pool can use.

Marimba Blue also has 3 padel courts that can be rented separately.

Review of our visit to Marimba Blue

We all enjoyed our visit to this pool bar. It provided a great venue for us to meet with some other families and their children for a day out. All the kids were kept entertained and the adults enjoyed the chance to relax and socialise. We definitely experienced pool fun for all the family at Marimba Blue.

Here is a summary of our experiences…

The Pool

The pool at Marimba Blue is large enough to accommodate plenty of visitors without feeling congested. There is space for both swimming and for kids to play.

Most of the larger pool is quite deep, so is best suited for children who can swim. The smaller kids pool is shallow and fun for non-swimmers. The fountain feature also adds another element for children to play with. My kids loved making their football float on top of the fountain.

There are plenty of sunbeds with some umbrellas surrounding the pool, that can be used without any additional cost. Small inflatables and balls are also allowed within the pool.

If I am being critical, the pool was a little murky when we visited. This is fairly common in the peak of summer and is something we have experienced elsewhere on occasion, so I perhaps shouldn’t be too critical. When the water heats up it becomes hard to keep pools like this clear when they are in heavy use.

The pool also uses a salt water system. While this is arguably more environmental than a chemical system, I never find it feels quite as nice to swim in and makes your eyes sting more. These negatives may put some people off but, personally, I still happily swam and found the pool pleasantly refreshing on a hot day.

The Restaurant

The restaurant at Marimba Blue is excellent. This is where the venue really excels. Often the food being offered at this sort of pool bar can be pretty average and standard. Not so here. Although the menu is not enormous, everything is made from fresh with care. It is all very reasonably priced as well.

The speciality of the restaurant is their fried chicken. For anyone who is a fan of the popular fast food takeaway featuring a red colonel, they will definitely not be disappointed. This is like that, only better!

The pizzas are freshly made and are also really delicious. Our kids happily chomped through a selection of them.

The restaurant is located in a nice building that is beautifully decorated with plants. There is also an outdoor upper terrace with more tables and a hammock to relax in.

Other facilities for kids

It is nice to have a playground and bouncy castle for kids. Although not enormous, they provide a nice distraction from the pool, helping to keep children entertained for longer. Sometimes in the peak of summer the bouncy castle is not in use though, as it is too hot.

We didn’t try the padel courts but they looked well kept, so maybe we’ll give them a go another time.

In Summary

We enjoyed some pool fun for all the family at Marimba Blue restaurant. It is nice to have local spots like this to visit and relax in on a hot day. It provided a perfect venue for us to meet up with friends at.

The pool is large and refreshing and the playground gives children another thing to do during any visit.

The real selling point though of Marimba Blue is the restaurant. Everything we had was delicious and was all served with a smile. For any lovers of fried chicken out there, be sure to check it out. To steal a famous slogan, it really is ‘finger lickin good’!
