Looking for a family restaurant with swimming pools for a day out this summer? We visited Aqua Marina Pool Park to see what they have on offer

Introduction

Having lived in Spain’s sunny Costa Blanca region for several years now, we are always pleased to discover a family venue or destination that we have not yet visited with our 4 kids. We were therefore very excited to hear about Aqua Marina Pool Park.

Aqua Marina Pool Park is a large swimming pool complex, with pools for both adults and children, as well as a bar/restaurant and mini golf course.

5 reasons why we love Aqua Marina Pool Park

We had a great day when we visited Aqua Marina Pool Park. Here is a summary of all the things we liked best…

#1 Fun kids pool with lots to do

The children’s pool is really fun. As well as being nicely landscaped and decorated with animals and cartoon characters, there is lots to do in the pool. There are several small slides for kids to whizz down, as well as a cave area and waterfall features.

Provided for children to use in the pool are a selection of foam floating toys for them to sit and play on. These kept my kids entertained for ages.

All of the kids pool is shallow water only, meaning children of all ages can enjoy the pool safely. My youngest who is just 4 could happily stand up and play safely in all of the pool.

#2 Large main pool with space for all

The other pool at Aqua Marina Pool Park is the larger, main swimming pool. This large pool is only 1.5m deep at its deepest. While this unfortunately does mean it is not suitable for diving, it also means that most adults can stand up throughout the pool. This creates plenty of space for everyone, so the pool never feels crowded.

#3 Good value food and drinks in the restaurant

The large, outdoor restaurant terrace has lots of tables and chairs for guests to use, all positioned in the shade. There is also a pool table that can be played on.

The restaurant serves quite a varied menu of food options, including hot sandwiches, pizzas and main meals. While it is generally fairly basic in nature, it is also great value for money. Everything we had was well cooked and presented. We all enjoyed our meal and, as a family of 6, we had lunch with drinks for under €50.

Snacks and ice creams are also available from the bar.

#4 Plenty of free sunbeds

Often this type of swimming pool restaurant charges extra for using a sunbed. We have come across this at several other similar places in Costa Blanca.

We were therefore pleased to discover that there is no additional charge for sunbeds or umbrellas at Aqua Marina Pool Park. There are loads of available sunbeds, in both sun and shaded areas.

One downside is that some of the multi-coloured sunbeds are getting a bit old and tired. They also don’t have adjustable backs. If you want a sunbed with a backrest for the day, I would advise trying to arriving early at the park to secure one of the newer, blue loungers that have this feature. These are also located with a nicer outlook, right at the poolside.

#5 Mini golf

As well as swimming pools, Aqua Marina Pool Park also has a mini golf course. We visited during the middle of the day in July, so it was too hot for playing mini golf while we were there. The course looked fun though, so we’ll have to give it a go when we visit next. It’s nice to have an alternative activity to do if visiting for a whole day.

We’re always on the lookout for new mini golf courses for kids in Costa Blanca.

In Summary

As a family with younger children, we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Aqua Marina Pool Park. We always like to discover a new venue and we were genuinely impressed with the effort and care that has obviously been put into creating the pool environment. It is much more interesting than most standard pool restaurants, especially in the kids’s pool with its slides and water features.

While I imagine older children may not be so interested in the kids pool, my 4 (aged 4,5,7 &9) all had a great time. They amused themselves for hours in there (which is not often the case!).

Add to that a well kept main pool, both tasty and good value food in the restaurant, and friendly, smiling faces from the staff and you’ve got all the ingredients for a great family summer day out.

There were lots of reasons why we loved Aqua Marina Pool Park. We’ll be returning for sure.
