Here though, we are reviewing our visit to Pumptrack Park Premium Torrevieja with our 4 kids. Read on to find out how we got on there.

What is Pumptrack Park Premium Torrevieja?
Pumptrack Park Premium Torrevieja is a BMX pump track. For anyone not clear of what that is, it is a large, purpose-built, undulating tarmac track that twists and turns around a marked circuit of bumps and bends.
The track is designed to be used with BMX bikes, skateboards, roller skates, or scooters. By ‘pumping’ your chosen equipment on the downhill sections, experienced users are able to maintain momentum around the track.
The floor of the track is not cushioned and is as solid as a road, so helmets are recommended. Less confident riders may also benefit from additional knee and elbow safety pads.
Being Europe’s largest pump track, the track is actually split into 3 different coloured sections, running side-by-side. The intention of the design is that the different coloured sections are supposed to be used by people of different ages. While this idea makes sense, in reality the whole track tends to just be a jumble of people of all ages.
Where is Pumptrack Park Premium Torrevieja located?
As the name suggests, Pumptrack Park Premium Torrevieja can be found near the city of Torrevieja in the south of Costa Blanca.
The pump track is located within the park of Parque La Siesta, which forms part of the Urbanisation La Siesta. The exact location is at:

Review of visiting Pumptrack Park Premium Torrevieja with kids
We have now visited Pumptrack Park Premium with our 4 children (aged 10, 8, 6 & 4) on several occasions. Here is a summary of our experiences of visiting the park.
The pump track
The pump track is brilliant. Simple as that really. The track is well designed to be both fun and challenging for users of different ages and different abilities. Beginers can enjoy zooming up and down the little hills, while more advanced riders can find new lines on the bend sections to work in jumps and other tricks.
The quality of the construction is also excellent. The surface is smooth and well crafted throughout. The 3 different coloured zones are a good idea – segregating younger users from older children and adults makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately this is largely ignored and everyone just goes everywhere on the track. Usually there is enough space for this to not be a problem, although the occasional over-zealous adult or teenager can be annoying and slightly hazardous on a busy day.

From the various times that we have visited, Sunday has been the busiest. If you are looking for more space on the track and fewer other users, try to visit on a week day. That said, even on a sunny Sunday, because the track is so big, it never felt too busy.
Our kids have always enjoyed using the track with their scooters. This is probably the easiest and most accesible way to use the pump track. You do see people on BMX bikes, skateboards and roller skates, but the large majority of children (and occasionally me!) are using the track with scooters.
While the pump track can be managed by small children (my 4 year old loves it), some sections are a bit tricky so a few bumps and scrapes for beginners are sadly pretty inevitable. Therefore helmets and safety equipment are highly recommended.
Other things to do with kids at Parque La Siesta
The Pumptrack Park Premium Torrevieja is not the only great activity for children within the Parque La Siesta – it just forms one section of the park. There are also a whole range of other fun things to do.
There is a children’s playground, a fitness and training area with a fitness climbing frame (that is also loved by kids), and a small rock climbing boulder. By alternating these activities with turns on the pump track, it is easy to happily fill several hours in the park.
The park is also home to padel courts, football pitches, table tennis tables, petanca lanes, and even a dog exercise park, for anyone looking for even more things to do there.

Park facilities in Parque La Siesta
As well as the sporting facilities at Parque La Siesta, the park also has a chiringuito-style bar for drinks and snacks. There are also several areas of tables and chairs that serve both this bar and the groups of visitors congregating in the park for picnics and birthday party celebrations.
The bar is efficiently run and never seems too busy. The food offering is limited, but it is fine if you are just looking for a drink or small snack.
The toilets, located in the top corner of the park behind the bar are a bit limited, but ok (once you find them!). There is plenty of free car parking surrounding the park. If the spaces at the lower end of the park and on the side road are all full, there are plenty more spaces on the road that runs along the top end of the park.
Some of the children’s playground and the bar seating area have limited shade, but the pump track and most of the park are in full sun. For this reason, it is best to visit either during the winter months or outside of the hottest part of the day in summer.
Overall, the Parque La Siesta is a great location, with so much for people of all ages to do. It’s definitely one of our favourite parks in the south of Costa Blanca.

In Summary
For anyone who has not yet visited the Pumptrack Park Premium Torrevieja, or indeed maybe never been to any pump track of this type, you should definitely check it out. It’s something you don’t see everywhere you go and it’s great fun for kids. The fact that this one is actually Europe’s largest pump track just gives even more reason to go.
As well as the pump track, the Parque La Siesta also offers a good range of other activities. Consequently, it is very easy to happily spend a few hours there with children. Or, why not plan to stay for a whole day out? – with the addition of a bar to relax at and picnic tables for groups to use.
So, grab yourself a scooter or dust off that skateboard and get involved. KIds will have a blast!
