Meeting Point: A Sports Bar for all the Family

Introduction

We are always on the lookout for new places to take our 4 children in Costa Blanca. We were therefore very excited when a new family bar and restaurant opened in 2024 locally to where we live, called Meeting Point.

Promising fun for all the family in a sports-themed environment, we just had to check it out. As the venue is mainly inside, it would also be interesting to see how it compared to some of our other best family restaurants with indoor play areas in Costa Blanca, or our best indoor play areas for kids in Costa Blanca.

Here though, is our review of when we recently visited the Meeting Point – a sports bar for all the family – with our kids. Read on to find out what we made of it.

Where is Meeting Point?

Meeting Point is located in the town of San Miguel de Salinas, in the south of Costa Blanca. The town is a short drive from the coast and is easily accessible from the main AP-7 autoroute.

For anyone familiar with the town of San Miguel de Salinas, Meeting Point occupies the restaurant premises that was formerly known as The New Tavern.

What is there for kids to do at Meeting Point?

Meeting Point has a large open-plan space inside for customers to enjoy. As well as tables and chairs for eating and sofas to relax on, there is also a dedicated area for children to play.

The main attraction for kids is an indoor mini football pitch, complete with 2 goals, soft balls and a net to stop any balls flying out and into the meals of unsuspecting diners! It’s great fun for kids and a pretty unique attraction locally.

As well as the football pitch, there is also a projected computer with interactive games for kids to play on a big screen. This can be used during special events.

For children who like quieter playing there is a raised sofa area next to the football pitch with more toys to keep everyone happy.

What special events are there at Meeting Point?

Meeting Point runs a full programme of special events. These include quizzes, live music acts and seasonal specials. Many of these events are family friendly and children are always welcome.

Being a sports bar for all the family, all major sporting events are also shown on an assortment of big screens situated around the bar.

This Christmas 2024, Meeting Point is running a whole series of festive events. Look out for a chance to meet the big man in red himself at their Santa breakfast on December 21st, or their special charity carol singing event on December 19th.

What is the food like at Meeting Point?

Meeting Point is now offering a full food menu with plenty of choice, including children’s options. We only had time for drinks when we visited but look forward to hopefully giving the food a try on our next visit.

In Summary

With lots to keep kids entertained, Meeting Point in San Miguel de Salinas looks set to become a solid addition to the Costa Blanca family restaurant scene.

The mini football pitch gives kids a great chance to run off some energy in a safe environment. This makes a nice change for any children that may be bored of or have outgrown the usual soft play or playground offerings.

Although admittedly being based mostly indoors will not be for everyone, sometimes we all need a break from the sun in the summer or somewhere to warm up in winter.
